HES and RMS Teams!
It has been a very busy month for everyone! Some of us are still on track with goals and resolutions set only 30 days ago. If you are.....KEEP IT UP!!
If you have let go, felt frustrated, or are ready to give up, just go to Facebook and search Hefty.co - > Dogs and Bathtubs! Watch it and you will understand! Guaranteed LAUGHS! and hopefully, get you motivated!
As educators, we often end up being the motivator, which honestly, can be EXHAUSTING! I encourage you to find someone that will be your encourager, even if you don't see that person a lot. My motivator at the gym I attend told me this when I got started 2 years ago, "It's ok if you miss a day, a week, or even a month. The important part is you come back!" This week, I needed some serious motivation. I had to constantly remind myself of certain things to keep centered. (yes, that was me talking to myself!) But, I have others in my life that randomly encourage me as well and I will tell them, WOW! I needed to hear that! Thanks to all of you who keep me going, even when you don't know you're doing it!
It's a new month, a leap year month, the groundhog is peeking out soon, so, here's to more unexpected happenings and moments that will hopefully keep you feeling like,
WE CAN DO THIS!
Tech Stuff-->
Let's do the 4 C - Creativity!!
If you have a favorite site or app that motivates kids to create, let me know and I will share it out!
Have a great "weekend"! Let me know how I can support you!

Let's do the 4 C - Creativity!!
- NASA is launching an incredible contest that you need to know about! The contest is broken up into Elementary, Middle and High. So pass along to friends! Details below, but you know kids who want to build new inventions, so here is their chance! (see below)
- Mindmup - This is a website that allows kids to create mindmaps - concepts, images, etc.! It's awesome to use and it connects to Google Drive -- ThanksZaytoun!
- Recitethis.com - This is a quick and easy way to share an analogy, metaphor, six word story, summarize a meaning of a word. No login necessary and students can grab the link it creates and post it on Google Classroom, email it, or post to your class website! (this is what we used to express our similarities and differences at the RMS Early Release day)
- Smart Art in Microsoft Word- Best kept secret about Word! Go to Word, Click on "Insert" - SmartArt. Amazing ways to graphically share what kids are learning, explain a concept in math or science, a process, or how things are connected. You can save it, print it, email it, post it
- Make Belief Comix - Students create their own comic strip to explain a story, event, vocabulary word. No login required. Save it, email it, or print it. This one would be fun to summarize a unit, like "How to keep our community clean" or "How solve algebraic equations" or "How to cook delicious homemade cheese sticks" or "Tell the events of the Byzantine Empire in your own words" - ->That one is for you Kasse!
If you have a favorite site or app that motivates kids to create, let me know and I will share it out!
